Hey, Sorry to all my none blogging faithful who have been eagerly been awaiting an update. I have updated my views a little bit. I used to be a semi-conservative to moderate type person, but now i'm a full Conservative-Libertarian, yes i do support Ron Paul. That's all i'll say of him. Anyway, my views are now currently:
Abortion:
Go with what the Supreme Courts say (for now), in the Roe v. Wade case. I can't say yes, or no directly because i have heard arguments about judiciary activism in this case which would not be acceptable, but when i say i heard that's about as far as it goes, heard it.
Drugs:
I believe that ALL drugs should be handled like liquor, and cigarettes, both by the way can kill you, and both have nearly identical symptoms as those illegal drugs. This means that drugs should be handled in a way that you can put whatever shit you want in your body, but you have to do this without doing harms to others, like alcohol, and cigarettes. This would get rid of all of the black market profits that those G's get to make money. This also creates turf violence between the two gangs, selling drugs, leading to the death of people. This all happened during those "Roaring 20s," let me tell you, it wasn't so "Roaring" during the Valentine's Day Massacre up in Chi-town. Which was caused by two gangs, Al Capone leading one of them, which were selling illegal alcohol.
Economy:
I believe that we should have a duel-monetary system in this country to keep the dollar competitive, either creating a new currency, i suggest the name "Bucks," and "Buck-cents," that is backed by gold or silver, and having the dollar compete with the Bucks, or visa versa. This would reduce inflation to nearly a stand still in this country making it so the dollar doesn't lose all it's value like the German Marks did in the 1920's and 30's when they had to pay all the countries in World War One, and they just kept on printing Marks to the point where it was a 5,000,000 marks: 1 dollar currency exchange. It became worthless. And that is what is happening to the dollar if we don't get rid of the Federal Reserve, which PRINTS money.
Education:
I feel that the Department of Education should be gotten rid of. We need to go back to the local community teaching class, and having more freedom of choice. You know it was only made in 1980, and all those kids before then got there doctorates through a voluntary education system. As for someone who is actually in the education system, sophomore, i have realized that my history text book is somewhat biased to a certain party, take a wild guess: Republican. And wouldn't you know that a republican is the Head Honcho in the Dept. of Education. Now, for me, school comes easy, I'm not the average case though, and i know that. Most kids have a lot of trouble getting there work done on time, taking test that the teachers have to look over after there kids have taken it to see if there were questions they didn't go over in class. To limit this some teachers have implemented "Teaching to the Test Policy." This doesn't help a child learn, nor get excited about learning. You have to make yourself love learning to be good at it, i don't do that, but like said school comes easy to me, and learning to love learning is what the Education system is hoping for, and for most of my friends, including me, hate school because they don't love learning, and who really does?
Energy:
Although man-made climate change is still debatable, we can still reduce our dependence on foreign oil, not with policy, but with consumer interest. If people want something in a free market economy, they will get it. Look at all the new green energy, recycling collector, bio-fuel producers, the list of "green" companies goes on and on. That was not caused by the government because right now, the government can only say "shame, shame" if you don't do well on CO2 emissions. So, this is all VOLUNTARY change made by the consumers, not MANDATORY, which some people suggest.
Farms subsidies:
We need to start talking about these farm subsidies today, or else they will have big economic impacts on us, tomorrow. If you ask anyone out in the midwest, you can ask them what they think has caused the loss of local farmers to the hands of big corporations is farm subsidies. And all of the corn subsidies cause American farmers to either, 1) Increase the amount of land they have to plant more corn, to make more money, or 2) Switch certain cash crops for corn, considering you can make more money on it, or 3) a combination of 1 and 2. Most farmers do the no. 2 option. This is because the farmers will make even more money than they did before with the same amount of land, and crop rotation. Then, when you think about it even deeper, all prices in the grocery stores, except those grown in the tropics, and possibly some fruits, these price increases range from bread to ice cream, to steak. With farm subsidizing, and more specifically corn subsidizing, the traditional farmer that we think of is disappearing, and the prices that we are so used to in the grocery will be increasing.
Foreign Policy:
This will be short, non-intervention policy. Like Thomas Jefferson said, "Commerce with all nations, alliances with none."
Gay Marriage:
This will also be short: gays should have the same rights as everyone else, they are just people. You can't punish people for being people, that is what we tried to steer away from in the Civil Rights Movement.
Homeland Security:
Goes hand-in-hand with foreign policy. If we leave all other countries alone, they won't have any good reason to attack us. Look at the terrorists situation, we are over there, bombing their cities, policing their country, and making their government. When kids ask, why do we need to be motivated, or even adults, all the terrorists have to do is point, and say,"That is what America did to us." We give them the easiest reasons to attack us.
Immigration:
This is one of my more moderate-libertarian view points. We don't need a fence, we need perspective. Look at the situation with corn, and farm subsidies. Right now, with E-85 being pushed by everybody (just passed HR 6 bill into law, increases national supply from 8 billion gallons, to 22 billion gallons) it harms many Mexicans who use corn as a staple in their diet. Because of the american subsidies on corn here, it costs more in Mexico, because of this Mexicans can't afford their corn, which means they get poorer. This leads to economic desperation, and they come here. And because they are so desperate, they can't afford to wait through the entire legalization process.
There is a lot more, but their are so many issues that I can't think of them all right now. So, if you want to know what I think about certain issues just comment or ask me on the comment section in youtube:
